Additional Costs to Consider
If you are purchasing a second home or buy-to-let property, a 3% surcharge applies to each tax band.
Non-UK residents may need to pay an additional 2% surcharge, subject to HMRC residency rules.
Stamp Duty Land Tax does not apply in Scotland or Wales. Instead, buyers pay Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) in Scotland or Land Transaction Tax (LTT) in Wales.
